Key Stage 2-3 Transition
The Schools Admissions Team at Oxfordshire County Council is responsible for coordinating admissions to Bartholomew School and, therefore, the school is not involved in the application process. All queries should be addressed to the Schools Admissions Team at County Hall.
Secondary admissions are coordinated across Oxfordshire and across LA boundaries. If you are resident in Oxfordshire you need to complete and return the application form (CAPF) which is available online. If you are not resident in Oxfordshire you will need to apply on your home authority’s application form. Details on how to fill out the form and what is required are also available online.

The Transition Process
At Bartholomew we pride ourselves on the quality of the care, guidance and support we provide our young people as they make the transition from their primary school to become part of our inclusive school community.
The transition process at Bartholomew is recognised as a leading example of how well primary and secondary schools can work in partnership to support students and families over both the short and long term for academic success and personal development.

Our transition process begins each year by offering parents and students the opportunity to come and visit our school during our Open Evening or one of our Open Mornings in September.
Open Morning tours give you the opportunity to tour the school with members of our Senior Leadership Team and student guides and see what the school is like on a normal working day. You will visit lessons and be able to ask any questions.

Applications open: 1 September 2016
Closing date for applications: 31 October 2016
Parents complete and return choices form to the Local Authority. This can be done online; you will receive confirmation that your request has been received via email.
Offer letters dispatched from Oxfordshire County Council: 1 March 2018
Acceptance letters are sent to parents with a form to be signed and returned to the County Admissions Team or accepted online.

Primary Visits: During May/June 2017
The Head of Year 7, ALPS Manager and SENCo will visit primary schools to begin the process of induction and getting to know your child.
Over the following months, members of our ALPS Team visit primary schools regularly to begin to form links with students who might benefit from additional support through the transition process. The ALPS Team work alongside our Head of Year 7 and Transition Lead in order to ensure the process of transition is as smooth as possible for each student and their family.
The Head of Year 7, the ALPS Manager and the SENCo visit primary schools to meet with students to answer any further questions that they might have about the move to Bartholomew. Feedback from parents tells us that these visits are a strength of our transition process and are very much appreciated as a means of allaying any concerns.
Welcome letter from Bartholomew School sent: June 2017
Parents will receive an induction handbook and all necessary documentation to enrol their child at Bartholomew School for September 2017.
Rising Year 7 Induction Day: Thursday 29 June 2017
Staff at Bartholomew welcome the upcoming Year 7 students into the school for an induction day, which offers students an opportunity to get to know the other students in their tutor groups and to experience what life and learning is like as part of our community. Those students joining us from a primary school outside of the Eynsham Partnership Academy usually find this day particularly helpful.
Parent Information Evening for Rising Year 7s: Thursday 29 June 2017 at 6.30pm
For parents there is the opportunity to listen to a talk by the Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher, the Head of Year 7, as well as to meet key staff including your child's tutor.
Parents will learn about arrangements for their child starting in September 2017 and will hear about key events scheduled for their child during Year 7. The SENCo will also be available to speak to the parents of students who have additional needs. There will also be an opportunity to view uniform samples, and to purchase essential school equipment.
