Community Links
We encourage the development of the school as a centre of learning and leisure for the whole community. The following are examples of the ways in which we try to fulfil this aim:
ADULT & COMMUNITY LEARNING
The school is a resource for people of all ages. Through Adult Learning there exists a programme of varied classes, which are held at Bartholomew School on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Several daytime classes are held in the Village Hall, Scout Hall and the Pavilion. Adult Learning provides both leisure and vocational opportunities and learners can choose from Languages, Computing, Creative and Healthy Living courses. The annual brochure detailing all courses held in Oxfordshire is distributed door to door at the end of July and is also available in local libraries. All courses that run at Bartholomew School are administered from Kidlington Adult Learning based at Gosford Hill School Kidlington (telephone 01865 372165). To enrol on any course in Bartholomew School or elsewhere please telephone 0845 351 0646.
THE EYNSHAM PARTNERSHIP OF SCHOOLS
The Eynsham Partnership is comprised of the following schools, serving a rural area between Oxford and Witney:
- Bartholomew School, Eynsham (Secondary)
- Eynsham County Primary School
- Freeland C.of E. Primary School
- The Manor County Primary School, Long Hanborough
- St Peter's C. of E. Primary School, Cassington
- Standlake C. of E. Primary School
- Stanton Harcourt C. of E. Primary School
For many years these schools have worked closely together for the benefit of all young people in the area. In the early years of the partnership, this co-operation was exemplified by shared teaching and observation, shared premises and shared aims and objectives. Although the details of co-operation have evolved gradually, particularly to reflect the two specialisms which Bartholomew is able to share with its partnership schools, the close relationship between schools and their Headteachers has remained positive and stable.
