Welcome back to all students and staff to the 2012-2013 academic year. Our successful year for the school in external examinations provides a challenge to all year groups to strive to outdo last year's cohort and provide us with the best results we have ever had. This is a bigger challenge than usual this year, given the difficulties with the examination systems that you have seen in the news.
As I have said to you in assemblies this week, the staff, that are the most committed and hard-working staff I have ever worked with, will do all in their power to help you to succeed. All that is requiredfrom you is that you put in the correct levels of effort, show the right kind of positive attitude and exemplify what is best about Bartholomew students. You can do it and if you do you will succeed. The challenge is to make sure that you do make this happen all year.
