Bartholomew students achieve Key Stage 5 results to be very proud of
A-Level Examination Results Summer 2019
This year’s cohort of students overcame many great individual challenges to produce an excellent overall set of examination results and ensure Bartholomew School’s A Level examination results continue at the highest levels.
Headteacher Craig Thomas said:
“We are very pleased with the excellent A Level examination results that our students have achieved. They are a reflection of their fantastic commitment and the high quality teaching they have received. All our students should be justifiably proud of their efforts and the grades they have achieved. I am very proud of both the staff and students at the school. It is wonderful that all the hard work and commitment of both students and staff has been rewarded with such outstanding results”
126 students took some 361 exams, with the following highlights:
- 80% gained the grades A*-C
- 62% gained grades A*-B
- 30% of all entries gained grades A* or A
- 99% of all entries gained A* - E grades
Within the extensive successes at Bartholomew, there were many exceptional individual performances with over 20 students achieving three or more grade A*/A at A2. The top 10 performing students are highlighed below:

The School has generated significant added value for its students, maintaining the excellent standards set in previous years. The School has consistently been one of the highest performing state schools in Oxfordshire and these results mean that the majority of students will be able to attend their chosen university. We are very pleased that six of our students have gained a place at Oxford or Cambridge.
In addition to these fantastic individual performances, the School is very pleased with the achievements of all its students. These excellent results reflect our dedication to nurture students at all levels of ability. They are a reward for the positive attitudes shown by all students.
