The Pastoral Hub

At the heart of our ethos is the wellbeing of students. We understand there can be many reasons why a student may be finding it difficult to learn or concentrate in class. At Bartholomew we take a holistic approach to supporting our young people overcome any barriers to learning so that they may engage in school life.

In the first instance, a student’s tutor is the first point of contact. Further support is given by the Head of Year and each year group has a dedicated Pastoral Support Worker (PSW). This team get to know students well, working together alongside the young person and their family.

The Hub offers an environment where academic, behavioural, emotional and social support can be given, incorporating the needs of any students with special educational needs as well as others who are struggling to maintain a full-time timetable.

Additional help is available from the School Health Nurse and School Counsellor, both of whom are located onsite.
