Welcome to Bartholomew School

We are incredibly proud to lead a school with a long-standing reputation for excellence, where high expectations sit alongside a strong sense of community, care and opportunity for every student.

Following our Ofsted inspection in May 2024, Bartholomew School was once again judged to be Outstanding in all areas. This was our third consecutive Outstanding judgement and reflects the hard work, commitment and ambition of our students and staff, together with the invaluable support of parents, carers, governors and trustees.

At Bartholomew, our aim is to prepare students for a bright, exciting and happy future. We want every young person to feel safe, supported and challenged to achieve their very best, while also developing the confidence, character and wider skills they will need beyond school.

As a mixed comprehensive school for students aged 11–18, we are proud to provide a high-quality, inclusive education for young people of all abilities. Academic achievement is an important part of this. Our GCSE and A Level results are consistently strong, reflecting the dedication of our students and the expertise and commitment of our staff.

However, a Bartholomew education is about much more than examination results. We want new interests and make the most of the many opportunities available to them. Through sport, music, drama, STEM, trips, clubs, leadership opportunities and many other enrichment activities, students are encouraged to participate fully in school life and broaden their experiences.

Our strong pastoral system underpins everything we do. We work hard to maintain a calm, positive and purposeful environment in which students are ready, respectful and safe, and where they feel known, supported and able to thrive.

We also place great value on our partnership with parents and carers. By working together, we can provide students with the encouragement, challenge and support they need throughout their time with us.

We hope that our website gives you a sense of life at Bartholomew School and the opportunities available here. Whether you are a current member of our community, considering joining us, or simply finding out more, we warmly welcome you.
