Translation Success in National Competition

Every year, Bartholomew School language students enter the prestigious Anthea Bell Young Translators Award, in which students translate a text into English from German, French, Spanish and a range of other languages. Entries are judged on the accuracy, creativity and flair that students bring to their translations.

We were impressed by all of the entries submitted by Bartholomew students this year, and would like to congratulate everyone who took part.

A special congratulations — and an enormous Gut gemacht! ("Well done!") — goes to Sasha in Year 8, whose beautiful translation from German into English was awarded a Commendation by the judges.

With more than 25,000 students participating in the competition in 2026, this is a truly outstanding achievement and one of which Sasha should be extremely proud.

Congratulations, Sasha, on this fantastic national success and for representing Bartholomew School so brilliantly.
