WELCOME TO BARTHOLOMEW SCHOOL SIXTH FORM
We are delighted that you are considering applying for entry to the Sixth Form at Bartholomew School. We hope that the information here, including our Sixth Form Open Evening film and prospectus, will inspire you to join us in September 2024.
Offering an extensive range of subjects, a wide range of enrichment opportunities, dedicated pastoral support and a superb learning environment, Bartholomew School is a happy, successful and inclusive place to learn and a popular choice for Sixth Form. Our A Level results in 2023 were the best among Oxfordshire state schools with 43% of grades at A* to A, placing us within the top 4% state schools nationally.
The Sixth Form you join should be a supportive stepping-stone to a variety of future possibilities, including training, employment, further education, and higher education. It should offer you an exciting and challenging range of opportunities, both academic and extracurricular. We believe Bartholomew School will provide you with an environment where all of this can happen, where our key aim is to support you in achieving the success that you need to pursue your chosen goals.
Please watch the following short film for the welcome and introduction talk from Mrs von der Osten, Deputy Headteacher & Director of Sixth Form, and our three Student Presidents.

Options Grid
Most students will select 3 A Level or BTEC courses from the grid below when making their Sixth Form application.
Please note that students will also take an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) or Core Maths, both of which are worth half an A Level. These courses do not need to be confirmed at this stage but will be agreed with students in September.
We understand that some students may change their mind over the year about their options so please rest assured that there will be opportunities to update choices if students wish to. Further information to help you with this part of your application appears within the application form.
